Current Open Positions:

Sr. Estimator

The estimator is an integral part of the Electrical Construction process. The Sr. Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate estimates that ensure Belco's competitiveness, profitability and reliability in the market. Candidates need to be self-starters with focus and a commitment to ensuring Belco's standard of excellence. An Electrical Construction background is essential to being successful in this position.

Job Duties:
  • Preparation of complete labor and material estimates for commercial, industrial and public electrical projects
  • Liaison between sales and client when necessary
  • Build solid relationships with target client estimating team
  • Prepare bills of material and other information for use by purchasing
  • Data Entry of estimate information into corporate information systems
  • Close coordination with Project Management
  • Additional duties as determined by Chief Estimator
Preferred Job Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction or related field desir
  • 10+ yrs electrical estimating experience with large (3 million +) electrical construction projects and/or estimates
  • Depth of knowledge with a wide variety electrical materials and methods of installation
  • Strong Organizational and Leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as a part of the team
  • Accubid estimating software or equivalent
  • Comfortable using technology
  • Read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, etc. plans and specifications as they relate to the electrical work
  • Knowledge of the N.E.C. and local codes
  • Computer literate in common MS word and excel
  • Able to do basic circuitry for power and lighting and layout on drawings
  • Understanding of fire alarm system wiring methods and layout on drawings

Project Manager

Project Manager candidates must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in current PM best practices. Successful candidates must have prior experience managing large commercial Electrical Construction Projects.

Job Duties:
  • Oversee Electrical Contracting Projects from beginning to end including developing budgets, schedules and strategies for the most efficient and profitable methods for delivering the project.
  • Oversee and direct field labor
  • Pricing/Costing – controlling the cost of the projects is essential to this position
  • Build long term customer relationships by consistently meeting expectations and offering innovative solutions
  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Additional duties as determined by Group Executives
Preferred Job Requirements:
  • 5+ yrs Electrical Project Management – hard bid & design build commercial electrical projects
  • Large commercial projects (3M+) experience
  • Strong Union labor management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to present in a professional manner and represent the company image
  • Accubid estimating system or similar system experience
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction or related field experience desired

Summer Intern

Belco offers internships to qualified students studying construction management, electrical engineering, and business management with an emphasis in construction.

Our internships are designed to give students experience in project management and the pre-construction and estimating process in the construction business.

Typical Internship Duties:

The internship will be focused on assisting our project managers and electrical estimators. Typical duties include assisting with compilation of submittals, communicating with sub-vendors in preparation for bids, tracking specs and plans, maintaining estimating project binders, and completing bid forms and other documents. Beyond the typical duties there are a variety of day-to-day activities in which the intern will participate and assist.

Preferred Job Requirements:
  • Studying for a degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Excellence in MS word, Excel, MS Project and comfortable learning other software programs
  • Education coursework in project management, business fundamentals, construction fundamentals preferred
  • Self-starter with enthusiasm for learning
